Pasture-to-Plate
- 100% Grass-fed & Grass-finished - our cattle graze on 50 acres of Texas grasses and forage their entire life (no grain, EVER).
- Pasture Raised - our cattle are raised with access to wide-open pastures in an environment that allows them to mature naturally, never confined.
- Raised Without Added Hormones - our cattle receive no added hormones during their life. Hormones are naturally occurring and we ensure supplemental hormones or steroids in any form are never used.
- Humanely Raised - our cattle always have ample space, free access to food, water, and shelter, and are handled gently to minimize unnecessary stress.
- No Antibiotic Added - our cattle are only given medication, including antibiotics, as a last resort. We believe there is an appropriate time and place for life-saving medicines, along with our strong commitment to evaluate and implement necessary improvements to prevent such incidents from occurring again. The common zero tolerance stance on antibiotics is often implemented by other producers, but our small family business is unable to maintain such a practice. As a true small family owned and operated ranch (we're small y'all!), we don't want to take a perfectly good animal with an injury or illness and sell it where it would probably end up at a feed lot with terrible, subpar conditions. As a first generation family ranch, we do not have the capacity for removing or not treating injuries or mishaps that will happen, but we do strive for health through healthy living. Masking the effects of unhealthy living through chronic medication administration is unacceptable and we hold to the same standards for our own family as our cattle in that regard. With all of that said, we rarely find the need to utilize medications and strive to work toward our goal of maximum health.
- Adaptive Grazing - Rising K Ranch implements adaptive grazing practices to restore ecological processes (water cycles, soil life, wildlife populations, etc.) through mimicking natural biological and ecological systems. Our pastures are GMO free, pesticide free, and herbicide free. We manage our cattle the way nature intended resulting in healthy, nutrient dense food for our community.
We believe in being transparent and not misleading customers like other producers. It's important to know how your food is raised for the entirety of its life so you can make the best decision for your family in what type of food production to support. Education, transparency, and opportunity through producers like Rising K Ranch are key to living the vision of the freedom to choose how and what you and your family consume for your health and happiness.
